INSTRUCTIONAL: SUPERVISORY DUTY LIMITS -The instructional CBA has specific language related to supervision of students. If supervision of students is needed the principal must discuss the needs with the faculty prior to the implementation of a rotational duty plan. No teacher shall provide supervision more than 36 times per year. If duty is performed in the morning and afternoon on the same day, that counts as 2 occurrences.

SUPPORT: SUPERVISORY DUTY- the support CBA states the immediate supervisors shall not delegate to any employee the total responsibility for the control and direction of the students in any office, classroom, cafeteria, clinic, or playground except in case of emergency, or where the employee has received the district substitute teacher training. If you are an Office Specialist, you shall not be required to supervise students who have been sent to the office for disciplinary reasons.

Please remember that matters of pay, hours, and working conditions are mandatory subjects of bargaining and any changes must be negotiated with VUE. Additionally, as a member of YOUR UNION, you have the Right to Representation should your supervisor, manager, or administrator ask to meet with you regarding matters that YOU believe could lead to discipline.
